Student / Course Terms
Version 1.1
Effective Date: 2026-10-25 (America/Chicago)
1. ELIGIBILITY AND ACCESS
All Student accounts are 18+. No minor/parental account system at launch. For new paid enrollments governed by this v1.1 edition, access to the approved 7-hour and 8-hour courses is four calendar months from the authoritative paid-enrollment date, subject to the existing account/enrollment conditions. Students previously promised a longer period under accepted terms retain that existing entitlement. Content/assessment completion criteria and price appear before enrollment.
2. CLAIMS AND OUTCOMES
The approved 7-Hour Process Server Orientation Course and 8-Hour Continuing Education Course retain their JBCC-approved wording and Course ID PSC20260303. Eligible completion results in the approved Certificate of Achievement with the authoritative provider credential. The certificate documents the approved course completion; it is not itself a Process Server license, court authorization, employment offer or approval to perform PIGEON field work. Existing lesson progression, page/session timers and Continue/Next requirements apply unchanged. The final exam has 40 questions, an 80% passing score and a 2-hour timer. Approved course hours are distinct from individual page/session timers.
3. REFUNDS
A Student refund may be eligible only when all ordinary conditions are met: the request is received within 168 consecutive hours after successful payment, less than 10% of the applicable course has been accessed, the final assessment has not been completed, no certificate has been issued, and no other applicable non-refundability condition or legal exception prevents eligibility. Eligibility and any refund remain subject to authorized Admin review; this calculation does not automatically issue or authorize money.
Purchase time is the authoritative successful payment/settlement timestamp recorded for the purchased course, not enrollment creation, an unpaid submission or a browser-supplied date. The ordinary refund request window is a full 168 consecutive hours after the authoritative successful payment timestamp, evaluated using trusted server timestamps rather than purchase-date or local-midnight counting. The request receipt time is recorded by the server. A request after the 168-hour cutoff does not meet the ordinary timing condition.
Accessed progress is the number of unique canonical instructional lesson/page units with qualifying access recorded by the existing server attendance system, divided by the total canonical instructional units configured for the purchased course. In the current system, a unit counts when the server has recorded positive qualifying attendance credit for it. Each unit counts at most once; repeated visits do not increase the numerator. Elapsed browser time, client-reported progress and lesson completion percentages do not determine this fraction. The final exam is excluded from the denominator. Less than 10% may satisfy the progress condition; exactly 10% or more does not. The comparison uses the unrounded counts.
Completion of the final assessment, whether passed or failed, or issuance of a certificate independently prevents ordinary refund eligibility. Starting an assessment is not the same as completing it. Existing lesson/page timers, Continue/Next requirements, the 40-question final exam, 80% passing score, two-hour exam timer and certificate requirements remain unchanged.
Authorized Admin review must consider the actual payment/refund state, applicable policy conditions, payment-provider limitations and any mandatory legal rights or exceptions. Requests outside ordinary criteria may still be reviewed for an applicable exception; this does not promise an exception or refund. Existing duplicate-payment, PIGEON technical-failure and course-cancellation provisions remain subject to the applicable policy and authorized review. If PIGEON cancels without an equivalent remedy, the existing unused-course refund provision remains, subject to that review. Refund processing follows the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4. DATA AND RECORDS
Collect only applicable disclosed account, enrollment, progress, completion, assessment, payment and credential information, with required identity verification. No remote proctoring or automatic government reporting without a separately approved/disclosed program. Unpaid incomplete enrollment-only data follows the 30-day abandoned-enrollment schedule after last meaningful enrollment activity, subject to verified references and holds. Paid/active access remains four calendar months and is not shortened by that schedule. Enrollment/completion/certificate records follow the approved 7-year schedule after completion/withdrawal. Terms, Privacy Policy and electronic consent apply.
